Some examples of what your generous donation of time and money is used for:
Scholarship Fund: Provides tuition scholarships for singers who would not otherwise be able to participate in the Chorus.
Community Songfests: The concerts give the Chorus an opportunity to share its music with elementary and middle school choirs in the area. During each Songfest, the participating choirs sing alone, and then join together to perform several pieces. Participants and audience alike gain concert experience, as well as exposure to a wide range of classical and traditional children’s choral music.
Intergenerational Concerts: In an effort to entertain and connect with our elderly population, TBCC performs at several assisted living and senior centers each year. The concerts, which include a sing-along, have been well received by all. After each performance, there is a social hour, giving the singers the chance to mingle and converse with the residents.
Choral Festival Tour Fund: Each year, the Concert Choir travels to sing in a children’s choral festival in the U.S. or abroad. Our singers are proud to represent the Bay Area, and they are superb ambassadors to the world. The Tour Fund helps to pay the expenses of singers who would not otherwise be able to participate. The tours introduce the children to other cultures, broaden their musical horizons, and enable them to form bonds with young singers around the nation and the world.
Endowment Fund: This fund was established in 2000 to enable us to support scholarships, cultural tours, and musical education in perpetuity. Chorus Endowment Fund assets are invested by the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay and administered by the Board of the Chorus. A minimum of 5% of the value of the total investment assets of the fund is distributed to TBCC programs each year. |
